Ancient medicine,
deeply personal
to you
Acupuncture at this clinic is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Each session is shaped around your body, your nervous system, and what you are carrying right now.
A medicine that listens to the whole person
Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing systems in the world, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It works by stimulating specific points on the body — using very fine, sterile needles — to restore the natural flow of energy, known as Qi, through the body's meridian pathways.
From a modern perspective, acupuncture is understood to influence the nervous system, reduce inflammation, regulate hormones, and support the body's own healing mechanisms. The two views are not in conflict — they simply describe the same phenomenon through different lenses.
What makes this approach distinct is the attention to root cause. Rather than managing a symptom in isolation, each treatment looks at the whole picture: your sleep, digestion, emotional state, stress levels, and physical sensations.
What acupuncture may support
Nervous System Regulation
Acupuncture gently shifts the body out of fight-or-flight and into a state of rest and repair — supporting those living with chronic stress, anxiety, or burnout.
Hormonal & Menstrual Health
Supports cycle regulation, eases menstrual discomfort, and addresses the hormonal imbalances that affect mood, energy, and overall wellbeing.
Pain & Tension Relief
From chronic pain and headaches to muscular tension and postural holding patterns — acupuncture works directly with the tissue to release and restore.
Sleep & Fatigue
By regulating the nervous system and addressing underlying imbalances, acupuncture can help restore more restful, restorative sleep and improve energy levels.
Digestive Balance
Supports healthy gut function, eases bloating, and addresses the gut-brain connection that underlies so much of how we feel day to day.
Emotional Wellbeing
Acupuncture offers a quiet, held space for emotional processing — supporting those navigating grief, overwhelm, low mood, or a sense of being disconnected from themselves.
What to expect when you come in
A Conversation First
Your initial consultation begins with time to talk. We explore your health history, your current experience, and what has brought you here. This is unhurried — understanding your whole picture is the foundation of good treatment. In your first session, this intake takes up a meaningful portion of the time, which is why it is longer than follow-ups.
Gentle Assessment
A light physical assessment informs the treatment — this may include pulse reading and tongue observation, both classical diagnostic tools in Chinese Medicine that offer a window into what is happening beneath the surface. Everything is done with your comfort and consent.
The Treatment
Fine, sterile needles are placed at carefully selected points — often you will feel very little, or a brief, dull sensation that fades quickly. Most people find the experience deeply relaxing. You will rest with the needles in place for around 20–30 minutes. Additional techniques such as acupressure, moxibustion, or breathwork may be woven in where appropriate.
Choosing the right session
Whether you are coming for the first time or continuing your healing journey, each session is tailored to where you are right now.
Initial Acupuncture Consultation + Treatment
Your first visit includes a comprehensive consultation, Chinese medicine assessment, and personalized acupuncture treatment. We'll take time to discuss your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and treatment goals before creating an individualized approach to your care. Your treatment may also incorporate supportive techniques such as cupping, Gua Sha, or acupressure when appropriate.
For new acupuncture patients.
Follow-Up Acupuncture
A focused, individualized acupuncture treatment for established patients. Follow-up sessions build upon your initial assessment and treatment plan and may support concerns such as pain and tension, stress, sleep, digestive health, women's health, headaches, and overall wellbeing.
Acupuncture + Therapeutic Bodywork
A more comprehensive treatment combining acupuncture with targeted therapeutic bodywork. Depending on your individual needs, your session may incorporate myofascial techniques, acupressure, cupping, or Gua Sha. Especially suited for those experiencing muscular tension, pain, restricted movement, or fascial patterns that benefit from both acupuncture and hands-on therapy.
Somatic Acupuncture + Bodywork
A deeply integrative treatment bringing together acupuncture, therapeutic touch, and somatic practices to support the connection between body, breath, movement, and the nervous system. Techniques are thoughtfully selected according to what your body needs that day.
- Acupuncture
- Myofascial bodywork
- Gentle somatic movement
- Breath awareness
- Acupressure
- Grounding practices
- Therapeutic sound or tuning forks
A course of 4–6 weekly sessions is often recommended initially. We will discuss what feels right for you at your first appointment.
