Release what the body
has been
holding onto
A focused, needle-free therapy for muscular tension, fascial restriction, and deep tissue release. Rooted in Chinese medicine, adapted for your body's needs today.
An ancient therapy with a deeply modern application
Cupping is one of the oldest therapeutic practices in Chinese medicine. By creating gentle suction on the skin's surface, cups lift and decompress the layers of tissue beneath — releasing fascial adhesions, improving circulation, and encouraging the nervous system to down-regulate.
Unlike massage, which compresses tissue, cupping works by creating space. This lifting action reaches into deeper layers of muscle and fascia that hands alone cannot access, making it particularly effective for chronic tension, restricted movement, and areas of stagnation that have not responded to other therapies.
At this clinic, cupping is always applied with care and intention — adapted to your sensitivity, your tissue, and what your body is ready to release.
What therapeutic cupping may support
Muscular Tension & Pain
Releases deeply held muscle tension and chronic pain patterns, particularly in the back, shoulders, neck, and hips — areas where stress and postural holding tend to accumulate.
Fascial Restriction
Works directly with the fascial network to soften adhesions and restore suppleness to connective tissue — supporting greater ease of movement and reducing the sensation of tightness.
Circulation & Recovery
Encourages fresh blood flow to areas of stagnation, supporting tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and speeding recovery from physical exertion or injury.
Nervous System Relaxation
The sustained, gentle pressure of cupping activates the parasympathetic nervous system — shifting the body out of a state of tension and into a deeper state of rest and repair.
Headaches & Neck Tension
Particularly effective for tension headaches and cervicogenic pain arising from the neck and upper back — releasing the underlying muscular and fascial patterns that contribute to head pain.
A Gentle Entry Point
Cupping is an approachable option for those who are curious about bodywork but not yet ready for acupuncture. It is deeply effective as a standalone therapy and pairs beautifully with acupuncture when you are ready.
Focused Therapeutic Cupping
A single, focused session targeting areas of muscular and fascial tension. Needle-free and suitable for most people.
Focused Therapeutic Cupping
A focused, needle-free treatment for areas of muscular and fascial tension. Your session may incorporate stationary cupping, moving or myofascial cupping, and complementary manual techniques to help release areas of restriction and support more comfortable movement.
An approachable option for those interested in therapeutic bodywork who may not yet feel comfortable with acupuncture.
What to expect
Brief Consultation
We begin with a short conversation about where you are holding tension, any areas of pain or restriction, and what you are hoping to address. This helps focus the treatment precisely where it will be most effective.
Cupping Treatment
Cups are applied to the targeted areas using gentle suction. Depending on your needs, stationary cups may be left in place for a few minutes, or moving cupping techniques may be used to work through larger areas of tissue. The sensation is one of lifting and decompression — most people find it deeply relieving.
Aftercare Guidance
After your session you will receive simple aftercare guidance — including what to expect in the hours and days that follow, how to support your body's recovery, and whether follow-up sessions or a combined treatment with acupuncture may be beneficial for you.
Before you come in
Cupping marks are normal
Cupping often leaves circular marks on the skin — these are not bruises but a sign of increased circulation in the tissue. They typically fade within a few days to a week and are generally painless.
Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water before and after your session to support your body's natural detoxification processes and help the tissue respond well to treatment.
Avoid heat directly after
Avoid hot baths, saunas, or intense sun exposure for 24 hours after your treatment, as the skin can be more sensitive following cupping.
Wear comfortable clothing
Loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the back, shoulders, and legs is ideal. You do not need to bring anything — just arrive and let your body rest.
